Arliss seemed very excited about his new life jacket. He was very eager to wear it, even around the house. We bought the life jacket because he is a beginner, a little tad pole, when it comes to his swimming skills. It's one thing wading in Spy Pond but a pool with a deep end is quite another!
We lowered Arlie into the pool and he paddled around and back toward the edge of the pool. He couldn't figure out where the stairs were so he bumped into the side of the pool a few times but he LOVED it.
Once out of the pool, Arliss would run around the edge of the pool chasing Honey the Golden Retriever. It was as if he was trying to muster the courage to just jump in on his own like Honey does. So this weekend was yet another milestone for Arliss. He went "swimming" in a pool with his favorite boys, Ajax, Aqui, and Sexias. It was only a few short dips but next time I think he can lose the life jacket!
